Rowan College of South Jersey Cumberland Campus's Engineering Technology program provides insight into technology innovation. Course curriculum is delivered by experienced instructors who help students understand the skills and knowledge needed to prepare for the current job market, as well as for future technology trends.

The Engineering Technology program is designed for immediate career readiness after completing the AAS program, or transferring to BSET programs. Students will be prepared for entry-level employment in the fields of electronics, mechatronics, and manufacturing as well as transfer into baccalaureate (BSET) programs leading to employment in the fields of manufacturing, product development, management, and engineering technology across robotics, automotive, medical, and various industrial fields.

Engineering Technology is 70% hands-on application and 30% theory, while Engineering is typically 30% hands-on application, and 70% theory. With an AAS, employment options are available for technicians in various fields including bio-medical engineering technology, mechatronics engineering technology​, robotics engineering technology, automotive and manufacturing engineering technology. With a BS in Engineering Technology, employment options include engineering technology specialists (or technologists) which are often called engineers.

Mechatronics Innovation Learning Lab (MILL)

The college's existing Engineering Technology program will soon be enhanced with the completion of the 6,357-square-floor Mechatronic Innovation Learning Lab (MILL). The first portion of this 3-tier expansion project will be ready for the start of the Fall 2019 semester. 

The space will contain state-of-the-art training equipment featuring

  • a Drone Zone, with a small-drone obstacle course
  • a robotics, automation and manufacturing training area
  • a high-definition CAD/CAM computer lab
  • a dedicated server room
