RCSJ Presents: STEM World Classroom Virtual Speaker Series

Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) invites you to bring a world of science, technology, engineering and mathematics knowledge to your doorstep with the College’s STEM World Classroom guest speaker series.

Free to RCSJ students and to all interested members of the community, the World Classroom series is an opportunity to learn more about cutting-edge STEM research, ask questions and receive career and leadership advice from scientists, doctors and researchers around the world. Sessions are held via Zoom, typically between 11 a.m.- 12 p.m., enabling participants to join in from anywhere and interact with professionals across an array of STEM disciplines.

On Oct. 22, hear from Dr. Erum Ilyas, MD, MBE, FAAD, of Montgomery Dermatology, on the topic of medical and cosmetic dermatology along with skin cancer treatments. On Oct.23, Princeton University professor of Zoology, Dr. Daniel Rubenstein, shares his research on behavioral traits in animals and how mathematical models can predict complex patterns of behavior. Gloria Diaz, graduate student at the University of Michigan, will share her passion for Epigenetics on Oct. 27, and University of Westminster Ph.D. and Science Museum of London ambassador, Camila Gaspar Quinonez, will speak on her experience in biochemistry, structural biology, microbiology and medicinal chemistry on Oct. 29.

Postdoctoral Bioengineering Scholar at UCSF School of Pharmacy on Nov. 5; Dr. Daphney Chery, 2020-2021 AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellow and Department of Defense Researcher on Nov. 10; Dr. Esther Biswas-Fiss, Professor and Chair of Medical & Molecular Sciences at University of Delaware on Nov. 12; and Dr. Sarah Bauer, Majors Assistant Professor of Civil & Environmental Engineering on Nov. 19.
