Grading (“Incomplete” Option)
After prolonged and careful consideration, the College has decided to keep traditional grading in place. While moving to a Pass/Non-Credit (also known as Pass / Fail) option may provide relief in the short-term, it is likely to hinder future opportunities for transfer to a four-year institution, selective program admission, athletic eligibility, and financial aid and loans. This is a position we cannot place our students in as it compromises their long-term success.
RCSJ is providing additional options for students who feel that the current environment of online education is not best suited to their individual success:
The final date for withdrawal in Spring 2020 was extended to April 27, 2020.
Students in good academic standing may speak with their instructor regarding an Incomplete status.
This option will extend the opportunity to complete coursework during either the Summer or Fall term, at
no additional cost.
Further details are available in
Provost Rickards’ letter to Students.
