School Counts! stands for everything that's right in the community—being positive, believing in each other and making a difference. The College and Foundation views the School Counts! Program as a vital, countywide program that will enrich the quality of life in our region. The first School Counts! Campaign that began in 2002 raised close to three million dollars. With your help, we can continue to provide School Counts! Scholarships for our students and we need your support. Join us in this campaign to increase awareness and provide scholarships to Cumberland students.
The School Counts! program provides two-year Rowan College of South Jersey - Cumberland Campus tuition scholarships to county residents who earn four consecutive School Counts! certificates from participating high schools. In order to earn a School Counts! certificate, students must:
In an effort to revive the
School Counts! tuition scholarship program and reach our campaign goal of one million dollars, the campus along with the Foundation is enlisting businesses to participate in this county wide effort. The
School Counts! campaign is a call to action throughout the community to ensure that we will be doing our part to make life better in the county and give students the opportunity to attend college.
- have a 95% or better attendance record;
- have a grade of C or higher in every course;
- have successfully completed Algebra I; and
- be scheduled to graduate from high school on time.
School Counts! with Rowan University
Rowan University is proud to join with Rowan College of South Jersey to award School Counts! Scholarships to qualifying students who are accepted to Rowan University upon graduating from RCSJ-Cumberland.
Requirements of School Counts! Students to Receive Funding from Rowan University:
Must be a resident of Cumberland County
Must receive an Associate Degree from RCSJ Cumberland
Must be accepted at Rowan University
Must achieve and maintain the minimum GPA within the student's chosen major
The funding pays as a "Last Dollar" scholarship after all applicable financial aid has been applied. Students are required to submit a FAFSA and meet all financial aid requirements
