Mission Statement for The Writing Studio
The Writing Studio at Rowan College of South Jersey helps students improve their writing across disciplines and genres. We align with the College’s larger mission of promoting “intellectual and cultural enrichment, individual achievement and professional development.” To that end, The Writing Studio seeks to demystify the writing process and empower student writers to develop effective strategies for any writing situation. We strive to help create a campus culture in which student learning continues beyond the classroom.
The Writing Studio maintains a staff of writing coaches who help students communicate effectively in their writing.

Also, students needing writing assistance over the weekends or after hours, can visit
ThinkingStorm. ThinkingStorm is our 24/7 professional online tutoring service. To access ThinkingStorm, log into your RCSJ Portal. On the My Campus page, click on "Online Tutoring (ThinkingStorm)" in either My Application or Campus Links boxes. You will then be directed to the ThinkingStorm's menu of services.
Goals of The Writing Studio
Provide writing coaching to students in all disciplines.
Promote the use of The Writing Studio facilities and the development of regular workshops and presentations.
Support the efforts of faculty to develop excellent writers.
Demonstrate commitment to access and diversity.
