Academic advising is one of the most valuable resources available to students during their college experience. At Rowan College of South Jersey, academic advising is recognized as a vital part of student development and success. Through personalized guidance, advising helps students align their educational plans with their values, goals, and career aspirations.

  • Academic Planning & Registration Support
  • Career and Transfer Resources
  • Academic Challenges
  • Personalized Support and Referral to Campus Resources
  • Clarifying the RCSJ Policies & Procedures

Your advisor is a dedicated partner and guide throughout your college journey, committed to supporting your academic and personal success. Students are encouraged to follow their advisor’s recommendations to ensure timely and accurate progress toward graduation and/or transfer. Not following this guidance may lead to delays in graduation, challenges with transfer, or enrollment in courses that do not align with your academic goals.

Students should schedule an appointment with their assigned academic advisor each semester to ensure they remain on track to complete their degree on time.

Academic advisors can provide critical information about:
  • When specific courses are offered (e.g., fall-only or spring-only)
  • Prerequisite requirements and course sequencing
Meeting regularly with your advisor helps you make informed decisions and avoid delays in your academic progress. Consistent advising empowers you to make knowledgeable choices that support both your academic and professional goals.

Check your student portal to view the name and contact information of your assigned academic advisor!

You can find the Office of Academic Advisement in the Student Services Building on both the Gloucester and Cumberland campuses.
