At Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ), eLearning is what we call online teaching and learning. Whether you’re completing a fully online course, a hybrid class, or accessing course materials between in-person meetings, eLearning gives you the flexibility and tools to succeed anywhere, anytime.
One Unified Blackboard Environment
Blackboard is our Learning Management System (LMS) — the platform where you log in to:
- Access course materials and assignments
- Participate in discussions and submit work
- Communicate with your instructors and classmates
- Track grades and progress throughout the semester
RCSJ operates within one Blackboard environment for all students and instructors — across both the Cumberland and Gloucester campuses. This unified approach ensures that no matter where your course originates, you’ll experience the same high-quality, consistent, and student-centered online learning environment.
At this time, RCSJ courses are taught in one of two Blackboard course views: either the Original Course View or the Ultra Course View. Each course section uses only one view, determined by the instructor.
The college is currently in the process of converting all courses to Blackboard’s modern Ultra Course View — a cleaner, more intuitive, and mobile-friendly design that enhances accessibility and ease of use. Full adoption of Ultra Course View is planned for completion by December 31, 2026.
