Andre R., RCSJ student and executive vice president of Alpha Psi Pi, embodies student leadership and academic success within RCSJ’s PTK 2025 REACH Chapters. Within the 2025-2026 academic year, he has received two PTK scholarships.
Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) is proud to announce that its Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Chapters at both the Gloucester and Cumberland campuses have been named 2025 REACH Chapters. PTK’s REACH Rewards program recognizes and rewards PTK chapters that excel in membership development.
By receiving this designation, RCSJ’s PTK chapters actively promote PTK’s mission to provide recognition and opportunities to students on each campus. PTK chapter advisors will receive graduation stoles and distribute them to chapter officers or members to be worn during graduation and to keep in celebration of their college completion milestone.
Brenden Rickards, president of RCSJ, shared the importance of the designation, “Achieving the 2025 REACH Chapter designation is a testament to the dedication of our Phi Theta Kappa members and advisors at Rowan College of South Jersey. Their commitment to student success, leadership, and academic excellence reflects the very best of RCSJ and creates meaningful opportunities that extend well beyond graduation.”
The RCSJ PTK chapters, Alpha Psi Pi (Gloucester Campus) and Rho Gamma (Cumberland Campus), are also recognized as Five Star Chapters for their commitment to maintaining engagement. Each chapter encourages its members to participate in outreach programs, thereby increasing student involvement within their communities. PTK also recognizes college students’ academic achievements and offers opportunities for its members to grow as leaders and scholars.
RCSJ student and Executive Vice Presidentof AlphaPsi Pi, Andre R., embodies student leadership and academic success. Within the 2025-2026 academic year, he has received two PTK scholarships for his strong academic performance and active involvement on campus.
Andre was named a 2026 New Century Transfer Scholar and received a $2,750 scholarship. The New Century Transfer Scholars were recognized at Phi Theta Kappa’s annual convention, PTK Catalyst, in Baltimore, Maryland, March 26 – 28.
“Receiving this recognition for the 2026 New Century Transfer Pathway Scholarship is a powerful validation that my hard work and persistence will continue to help me achieve my goals and dreams to become successful in my chosen career,” recalled Andre.
This award is more than just a scholarship; it's a testament to the journey I have taken so far, and a catalyst for my future success. I am incredibly grateful to Phi Theta Kappa for this opportunity."
Andre has also been selected as a member of the prestigious 2026 All-USA Academic Team. Selected from more than 2,300 nominees, he will receive a $3,000 scholarship and will be recognized during the American Association of Community Colleges’ (AACC) annual convention in Seattle this April.
"A Scholarship isn't just a reward for what a student has achieved. It's an acknowledgement that their resilience, hard work, and belief in themselves does yield positive outcomes,” shared Shawn Rutter, advisor for RCSJ’s PTK Chapters.
“I am extremely proud of Andre’s accomplishments as well as the achievements of both PTK Chapters.”
