Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)

​​​​​​​​​​​​​Medical Assistants are highly trained individuals who perform a variety of administrative and clinical duties in both primary care and specialty offices, urgent care centers and other healthcare facilities. Clinical duties can include taking medical histories, recording vital signs, assisting the physician during exams, injection, venipunctures and ECGs. Upon successful completion of all classroom hours, students will complete an 8-hour externship at a local healthcare facility. Students completing all course requirements will be eligible to sit for three (3) National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certifications including Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, Certified EKG Technician, and Certified Phlebotomy Technician. Students will also take the American Heart Association BLS/CPR for Health Care Professionals certification.
