Advisement at Gloucester

The Office of Academic Advisement

Welcome to the Office of Academic Advisement.  Academic advising can be one of the most important resources in a student’s educational experience. Rowan College South Jersey recognizes academic advising as a fundamental component of a student's development and academic success. Academic advising provides opportunities to enrich students’ educational plans so that they align with their personal values, goals, and career plans.  Your advisor can help you with making decisions concerning life goals, vocational goals, program choices, course choices and enrollment.  Advisors can also assist students in exploring careers, transfer options and much more!  Your advisor is essentially your academic tour guide that will assist you in navigating your college career. It is an advisor's responsibility to assist and guide the student. However, it is the student's responsibility to make final decisions about his or her academic program and career selection.

Meeting with an Advisor

Students are assigned an advisor based upon their declared major. View a list of advisors on Gloucester's campus by major. Students are encouraged to make an appointment each semester to ensure they are on track to complete their degree on time. If a student does not have an appointment, they can stop into Express Advising located in the lobby of Student Services. Express Advising is reserved for quick transactions and questions.
