Modified Advising Appointments

Advising Updates as of 10/20/2020
The Office of Academic Advisement & Retention will be working remotely until further notice. During this time, please be assured that all advisors in the department are committed to maintaining the same level of professionalism and services as we would under traditional circumstances. Below are details that outline how you can remotely meet with an advisor. This page will be updated regularly, so please continue to check for updates.

Advising Appointments
Students who want to meet with their advisor should continue to schedule an appointment as normal. You can make an appointment with your advisor by clicking here. Advisors are continuously monitoring their email and their appointments. Students who have an upcoming appointment will be notified via email regarding how the advising appointment will be delivered. These delivery methods may include email, phone conferencing or web conferencing though Zoom. It is imperative that you check both, the email used when scheduling an appointment as well as your RCSJ email prior to your appointment. Failure to do so may result in a missed appointment.

Express Advising
Virtual Express Advising is a service designed for students who have quick questions such as information about our programs or courses, signatures for withdrawal forms, or change of majors.  Express advising is not designed for 30 minute sessions like you would have by making an appointment with your academic advisor.  Express Advisors are unable to assist with FASFA (financial aid) related questions or questions about your bill.  Please contact the financial aid office or the business office for these types of questions.  To get in line to see an Express Advisor and receive immediate assistance, please visit,

PIN Numbers
If you are a student who requires a PIN number you must make an appointment to meet with your assigned Academic Advisor. To make an appointment, please visit the heading above entitled, Advising Appointments.  PIN numbers for spring course selection will not be provided in Express Advising.

Incoming Freshmen
All incoming freshmen must make an appointment with their advisor.  Your advisor will assist in determining your proper course selection for your first semester.  Your advisor will also be able to supply you with the registration PIN number so you can register.
