Modified Advising Appointments

Advising Updates as of 3/18/2020
The Office of Academic Advisement will be working remotely until further notice. During this time, please be assured that all advisors in the department are committed to maintaining the same level of professionalism and services as we would under normal circumstances. Below are details that outline how you can remotely meet with an advisor. This page will be updated regularly, so please continue to check for updates.

Advising Appointments
Students who want to meet with their advisor should continue to schedule an appointment as normal. You can make an appointment with your advisor like normal. Advisors are continuously monitoring their email and their appointments. Students who have an upcoming appointment will be notified the day before regarding how the advising appointment will be delivered. These delivery methods may include email, phone conferencing or web conferencing though Blackboard’s Collaborate. It is imperative that you check your RCSJ email the day before your appointment. Failure to do so may result in a missed appointment.

Express Advising
Due to the nature of Express Advising and the instant servicing it provides, the Office of Academic Advisement will not be providing this service while the campus is closed. If you have an immediate question or concern, please reach out to your advisor via email. A list of advisors and their email addresses are listed below.

Incoming Freshmen
In light of recent events, RCSJ Academic Advisors are holding their appointments in a virtual setting. The department is asking our incoming Freshmen that plan to start classes in the Fall 2020 term to wait to schedule a meeting with their academic advisor until after April 27.

However, if a student plans on taking a Summer 2020 term course you can make an appointment now, BUT make sure you indicate that when scheduling your advisement meeting.

Application to Graduate
The application to graduate for all students graduating this May or during the summer is online and located in the RCSJ Student Portal. Information about the process for applying can be found by clicking here.

Visiting Students
If you are a visiting student, a student enrolled at a four-year institution, but wants to enroll into courses at RCSJ, please click here to be directed to our online visiting student application.

Withdrawaling from a Course

If you want to withdrawal from a course, please email advisor Samantha Frost at Your email must include the course, code, and section (example: SOC 101-03) of all sections you want to withdrawal from. Ms. Frost will then respond with a digital withdrawal form and instructions on how to authorize the withdrawal.
