Do You Qualify for Free Tuition?

Eligibility Requirements

  1. Have a total household adjusted gross income not to exceed $65,000 annually
  2. Not have a prior college degree
  3. Must be a Gloucester or Cumberland County resident
  4. Apply for Federal and State Aid at fafsa.gov or the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid application for NJ Dreamers
  5. Enroll for at least 6 course credits (typically two classes) in Spring 2021

Community College Opportunity Grant

New Jersey’s new Community College Opportunity Grant provides “free tuition” for those who qualify.

This funding will be awarded after all other federal, state or institutional aid. (Funds will be deposited directly to the college.)

  1. Apply for financial aid at fafsa.gov

  2. Complete your free RCSJ admission application at RCSJ.edu/apply

  3. Create a profile at hesaa.org to file required State information

  4. Meet with an advisor and register for classes

  5. Your financial aid award letter will tell you if you qualify for “free tuition” under the Community College Opportunity Grant

The total amount of funds from the Community College Opportunity Grant is based upon the funding received through your FAFSA application and other tuition assistance monies received. Funding is by the State of New Jersey and is subject to change. All tuition funds are deposited to the college on behalf of each student in the program.
