“Souls Shot” Gallery Project Seeks Portrait Artists

2/18/2020

The Gloucester County Cultural & Heritage Commission is searching for talented artists to participate in a project that examines the heart wrenching cost of gun violence.

This September, at Rowan College of South Jersey’s (RCSJ) Dr. Ross Beitzel Art Gallery, the Gloucester County Cultural & Heritage Commission will unveil “Souls Shot: Portraits of Victims of Gun Violence.” This compelling exhibition features portraits that celebrate survivors of gun violence and memorialize those whose lives it has claimed. Artist and subject are paired randomly, with survivors, family and friends providing source material to inspire the depiction.

Artists can apply to participate in the project at SoulsShotPortraitProject.org/Get-Involved, or by emailing [email protected] by Friday, Mar. 13. Prior work created on the subject may also be considered for inclusion. All portraits must be submitted by Sept.1, and can incorporate any style or medium. For further details or questions regarding the project, contact [email protected].
