Great volunteer locations
AmeriCorps membership is free, in which volunteers also receive such perks as informational newsletters and take part in annual recognition luncheons. Helpers serve an average of three or four hours per week via placements at local nonprofit agencies, hospitals, schools and community institutions. Volunteers report their hours to the Senior Corps office each month. In addition, AmeriCorps members may qualify for travel reimbursement and are covered by "On Duty" accident and liability insurance.
