Managing college and life can sometimes be stressful, and students can be left feeling like there is no way to deal with it all. The Student Counseling and Wellness Services of Rowan College of South Jersey provide students with a space to receive support, be linked with campus or community resources, and grow towards their academic and personal goals.
The Center for Counseling and Wellness Services adheres to federal and state laws and ethical standards; all client information is held in confidence unless students seeking counseling give written permission to release information.
There are certain exceptions to confidentiality. Federal and state laws require that behavioral health professionals report certain situations. These include a reasonable suspicion of child, elder or dependent adult abuse, and a danger to self, others and/or campus safety.
In addition, records may be released when mandated by the court. To provide effective service, students' behavioral health professional may consult with other professionals within the Center. A confidential record is maintained with access restricted to the Center for Counseling and Wellness Services.
