Students can earn up to 30 college credits through RCSJ's Dual Credit and Advanced Placement (AP) programs. Credit earned may be applied to a Rowan College associate degree program.
How to Receive College Credit
Score a 3,4 or 5 on the CollegeBoard™ AP examination
Have their AP exam scores reviewed for transfer of credit by completing the following steps:
Complete the RCSJ Application for Admissions and enroll in at least one course at the College
Submit an official copy of their high school transcript
Submit an official AP score report or copy of their score report
Complete the Transfer of College Credit Request Form and submit it to the Office of Admissions, located in the Student Services building
Refer to RSCJ's AP Exam - Course Equivalency Chart to see how AP exam scores transfer to RCSJ
Once all required documentation has been received, AP scores will be evaluated for transfer of credit to RCSJ
New Students: Evaluation results are preliminary. Credits become official on the 10th day of classes during the first semester a student enrolls at RCSJ
Current Students: Evaluation results will be added to their RCSJ transcript immediately upon completion of request
College credit awarded via AP examinations appear on Rowan College transcripts as transfer credit. Transfer grades are not included in the RCSJ cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA).
The College President shall periodically revise the administrative rules and regulations applying to transfer procedures. (Policy 8207)
