Cheryl McBride

When asked, what does Rowan College mean to you, she replied, “it means new beginnings.”

Cheryl began her employment part time at Rowan College in 2005 as an Administrative Assistant in Public Relations and Marketing.  While working at RCGC, she was inspired to enroll as a non-traditional student.  In 2008, she earned her Associate of Science in Business Administration, and then continued her education at Wilmington University receiving her undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management in 2012.  Cheryl transferred to the Office of Student Life working in various positions until she was promoted to Director of the department.  Upon earning her Master of Science in Administration of Human Services in June, 2016, she transferred to the Director of Student Affairs. This past summer she began a new career as Counseling Advisor at Rowan College. Cheryl joined Rowan College's Advising team in July, 2017 and oversees the majors of mathematics, computer science, equine science, bioscience technologies, marine science, DMS, NMT, and PTA. She truly enjoys working with the students.

Cheryl is a single mother of three young adults, Patrick, Samantha and Tori.  She is also excited about the newest addition to her family, her rescue dog, Quimby.  She lives in Margate, NJ with her youngest daughter, who just ventured off to college in North Carolina this Fall.  In her free time, she has several passions including yoga, Stand-Up Paddle boarding, long beach walks, traveling, and she is an avid reader.  She is active in community service and currently serves as a Trustee for The Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation, as a Board member for The Center for People In Transition, and volunteers for Gilda’s Club of Northfield.  She is also active with the campus community by serving as College Assembly Chair, a member of the AAWCC, the College Assembly Student Experience Committee.

When asked, what does Rowan College mean to you, she replied, “it means new beginnings.”  In 2004, I was experiencing a life-changing family situation and RCGC provided me with a fresh start, not only with a place of employment, but with the courage and confidence to begin an educational journey that has positioned me to engage with students and assist them in finding their future passion in life. It was a new beginning for me years ago and every student that comes to Rowan College has the opportunity to script the next chapter in their life.
