Do your employees need to upgrade t​heir education or skills? Are you looking for professional training options uniquely designed to help your company reach its goals?
RCSJ-Cumberland's Corporate Education & Training department will help you upskill your workforce, increase employee engagement and improve company performance, making it the best possible return on your workforce training investment.​ We work with small businesses, non-profits and major corporations to deliver training at the work site or at one of Cumberland County training locations.

NJBIA No-Cost Grant Funded Training

These no-cost workshops are available through a partnership between the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA), the New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic Development, and the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development. Attendees must be employed by a registered NJ business and work a minimum of 20 hours per week. Public and State employees are not eligible for this grant funded training, but there are other options available. Please contact Cindy Phillips, [email protected] for more information.

Introduction to Six Sigma
February 1, 8, 15 & 22, 2023 
Wednesdays 5-8 pm

  This course is designed to introduce students to the basic concepts of Six Sigma particularly in continuous process improvement. Various quality tools used in process improvements will be explored as well as the importance of customer relationships.              
Zoom Tips and Tricks
February 2, 9, 16 & 23, 2023          
Thursdays 11 am-1 pm

   Improve your zoom meetings to keep your audience engaged. Learn how to modify your welcome screen, add polls to get instantaneous feedback from your audience, manage breakout rooms, and use a mouse spotlight when sharing your screen. Join us to find out more advanced and hidden features in Zoom.          
ESL Level 3
February 7, 2023 – March 30, 2023          
Tuesday & Thursday 4 pm -6:30 pm

   Prepares English-as-a second language students to communicate in familiar job, life-skill, or social situations. Students read short texts using simple context clues and decoding skills and write short paragraphs that are edited for basic grammar and spelling. This is intermediate ESL.          
Managing Pressure & Maintaining Balance
March 1, 8, 15 & 22, 2023          
Wednesdays 10 am-12 pm

   When things are extremely busy at work and you have your hands full with many tasks and dealing with difficult people, having skills you can draw on are essential for peace of mind and growth. This workshop will help participants understand the causes and costs of workplace pressure, the benefits of creating balance, and how to identify pressure points. They will also learn how to apply emotional intelligence, increase optimism and resilience, and develop strategies for getting ahead.       
What is the Cloud and How Does it Work?
March 2, 9, 16 & 23, 2023        
Thursdays 11 am-1 pm

  The cloud is the Internet, it's all the things you can access remotely over the Internet. When something is in the cloud, it means it's stored on Internet servers instead of your computer's hard drive. This workshop will show some examples of cloud services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, and Microsoft OneDrive and how they are used for data storage and sharing.        
Conversational Spanish - Level 2
March 7, 2023 – April 27, 2023        
Tuesday & Thursday 4 pm-6:30 pm

 This level focuses on increasing Spanish vocabulary and comprehension through interactive dialogue and role play. Students who finish this level will be able to understand sentences and frequently used expressions.       
ESL Level 1
April 4, 2023 – May 25, 2023        
Tuesday & Thursday 6 pm-8:30 pm

 English as a Second Language Level 2 is for students who have some ability to communicate in English; this class addresses all four language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). At this level, students read and write at a basic level in English and they develop vocabulary and basic grammar.        
Delegation: The Art of Delegating Effectively
April 5, 12, 19 & 26, 2023        
Wednesdays 10 am-12 pm

   Delegation is often one of the hardest skills for a manager to master. However, the skill can be learned. This course will explore many of the facets of delegation, including when to delegate and to whom to delegate. We will also go through the delegation process step by step and learn about techniques to overcome problems.        
Microsoft 365 Excel Level 1
April 6, 13, 20 & 27, 2023        
Thursdays 11 am-1 pm

  Microsoft 365 Excel is a powerful and easy-to-use spreadsheet application. Nearly everyone who works with numbers has likely used Excel. By the end of this workshop, users will be comfortable creating new spreadsheets, working with basic formulas and functions, saving and printing.        
Team Building: Developing High-Performance Teams
May 3, 10, 17 & 24, 2023        
Wednesdays 10 am-12 pm

   Success as a manager is heavily influenced by how well a team operates and what kind of results they achieve. Is your team able to solve problems? Can they resolve conflict? Are they enthusiastic and motivated to do their best? Do they work well together? This workshop is designed for participants who want to develop their team leadership skills and unleash the talent of their individual team members.        
Microsoft 365 Excel Level 2
May 4, 11, 18 & 25, 2023        
Thursdays 11 am-1 pm

  This course is intended to help all users become familiar with the more advanced selection of features of Excel. We will cover how to create and use advanced formulas, analyze data, organize worksheet data with tables, visualize data with charts, work with graphical objects, and enhance workbooks.

  This course will have users using automating functions, analyzing, and presenting data, auditing and error checking their work, working in multiple workbooks, and accessing and distributing data.        
Skills You Need for Workplace Success
June 7, 14, 21 & 28, 2023        
Wednesdays 10 am-12 pm

   There have been several studies that identify the key skills that workers need to be successful. Eight of the most identified skills are: Being a Productive Team Member, Flexibility, Problem-Solving, Resourcefulness, Giving and Receiving Feedback, Self-Confidence, Creative Thinking, and Emotional Intelligence. Many of us possess one or more of these attributes already and perhaps all of them. This workshop will help improve these skills.
