Grant Funded - Business Training

​​​​Rowan College—Cumberland offers both no-cost individual and group basic skills training classes.

NJBIA Basic Employability Skills Workforce Training Grant
There are two options for participating in one of these courses.
  • Group Training: Dedicated classes specifically for your organization, a minimum of 10 employees must attend and complete the required hours for each course. Classes can be delivered at your facility or at a Rowan College South Jersey location. Times and dates are flexible and designed to suit your needs.
  • Individual Training: Individuals can attend open enrollment classes with other employers, scheduled at a Rowan College South Jersey ​location.
The NJBIA Basic Skills Training has been made available through a partnership between the New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA), the New Jersey Community College Consortium for Workforce and Economic development, and the NJ Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Requirements for Training: To attend this training, employees must be employed in the state of New Jersey. Public employees and those who are unemployed, are not eligible to participate. Classes are reserved on a first come, first serve basis and sell out quickly.

Training Program Include:
  • PC Skills- Windows, Outlook, Work, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
  • Communications—Verbal and Written
  • Customer Service
  • English as a Second Language (ESL)
  • Spanish for Managers and in the Workplace
  • Mathematics and Measurement
  • Team Building, Problem Solving and Time Management

    • Communication Strategies- February 12 from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.
