High School Equivalency (HSE) / GED Program

The HSE program provides adults who did not complete a formal high-school program the opportunity to obtain a High School Diploma issued by the State of New Jersey Department of Education. Students will participate in reading, writing, math, social studies, science. Our Program also provides college information sessions, work readiness, and computer literacy workshops. Students who successfully complete the program will be prepared to take the GED assessment to earn their high school diploma.

English as a Second Language (ESL)
The ESL program helps adults whose first language is not English to improve their English speaking, reading, and writing skills.  Students will have opportunities to gain computer skills, work readiness skills, enroll in college, and prepare for career training or employment opportunities. Students may also choose to prepare for the US citizenship test.

Our Adult Education Programming, English as a Second Language and High School Equivalency will be offered through an online learning environment and in-person classes each semester. Students that wish to enroll should be prepared with reliable internet services as well as a smartphone, tablet, laptop, or desktop computer.

Hybrid ESL & HSE Courses 
Hybrid courses for High School Equivalency and English as a Second Language are now available at our RCSJ Gloucester Campus, providing students with more technical skills and adding another dimension to their educational experience. Students will be expected to participate in online lessons, activities, assignments, and assessments. We look forward to meeting and exceeding your educational needs.

These courses are funded by the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development.

Integrated Education & Training (IET) - ESL Program Students

IET provides adult education and literacy activities concurrently and contextually with workforce preparation activities and workforce training for a specific occupation or occupational cluster for the purpose of educational and career advancement (§463.35). The IET program includes the following three components: adult ​education and literacy activities, workforce preparation activities, and workforce training (§463.36).

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)

Nurse Assistants aid in the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs of clients. CNAs work in health care settings such as hospitals, home care, nursing homes or assisted-living facilities. Students learn basic care skills including monitoring vital signs, controlling infections, transferring, and feeding clients as well as the Heimlich maneuver. Communication skills, body mechanics, bed making, restorative care and care of the dying client are among topics covered. This state-approved program includes 50 hours of classroom instruction and 40 hours of clinical training. In addition, coursework prepares students to take the state licensure examination.

Certified Production Technician

Today's manufacturing environment requires cutting-edge skills and competencies that you did not learn in high school. Attend our six-week Certified Production Technician Program to earn a national credential from the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council (MSSC) and start your new career in advanced manufacturing. The program will focus on Safety, Quality Practices & Measurement, Manufacturing Processes & Production, Maintenance Awareness, and Green Production. This course is offered through a variety of instruction including classroom time, site tours, test preparation, and manufacturing processes.
