The Technical Studies program offers students the unique opportunity to combine the knowledge acquired through work and military experience with post-secondary education to earn a college degree. This nontraditional program blends technical skills with business savvy to promote success in the workforce, offering instruction in areas including business, computer science, civil engineering technology, drafting and design, computer information systems, computer graphic arts and engineering science.
The Technical Studies program is designed specifically for individuals who have graduated from or have been enrolled in an American Council on Education (ACE)-recommended and approved Federal Bureau Apprenticeship Training program or who have military credits approved by ACE that qualify them to become supervisors, managers or businesses owners when their career in the trades or military is concluded.
Program Goals
Students who have completed the program will be able to:
- Identify resources and collect and analyze information
- Effectively communicate in both written and oral formats
- Collect information and identify and solve problems
- Demonstrate an understanding of ethical and professional guidelines and policies
