RCSJ Cumberland Campus: High School Equivalency Exam Dates Available

The Rowan College of South Jersey–Cumberland campus (RCSJ) Career & Technical Education Division is now offering in-person testing for the High School Equivalency Exam (HiSet) at the Arts & Innovation Center in Millville and the Alms Center in Bridgeton. RCSJ is the official HiSet Testing Center in Cumberland County.

The High School Equivalency Exam will be offered from April through August for individuals 16 years and older. Individuals between the ages of 16 to 21 years old must complete the Certificate of Non-Enrollment form located on the HiSet website. Adults over the age of 22 may opt for at-home testing with a proctor. Test-takers must be a resident of New Jersey and not currently enrolled in high school. Photo identification (New Jersey driver's license, permit, passport, voter registration, school/college ID, employee ID, or other photo ID) and one or more proofs of residency is required.

Applicants must register online at hiset.ets.org. In order to register, applicants must have a debit/credit card or a PayPal account. All instructions and details are available online during sign up. The total in-person testing cost for all five subtests/full battery is $103.75, with the option to pay for one or two subtests at a time, and additional fees for retests. The total cost for at-home testing is $191.75.

The HiSet is designed for individuals to earn a state-issued high school equivalency credential to advance life choices. The test covers areas such as: reading, writing, math, science and social studies (reading and writing recommended together if taking two tests the same day). Testing dates are available:

Arts & Innovation Center

  • Thursdays and Fridays — April 8 and 9; May 6 and 7
  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays — May 18 and 19; June 1, 2, 15, 16, 29 and 30; July 13, 14, 27 and 28; August 10, 11, 24 and 25

Alms Center

  • Tuesdays and Wednesdays — April 13, 14, 27 and 28; May 11 and 12; June 8, 9, 22 and 23; July 20 and 21; August 3, 4, 17 and 18.
