Horticulture, A.A.S. (Cumberland)

This program prepares students on the growing and breeding of plants as well as maintaining productive soils.

Program Goals

Upon completion of this program, students should be able to:

Apply knowledge of the Anatomy and Physiology of vascular plants by identifying, selecting, and managing agricultural crops
Identify, select, and propagate woody and herbaceous plants used in the MidAtlantic region.
Recognize and evaluate key pests and propose solutions for pest management.
Display effective decision making, time management and project management skills in the horticulture industry through a field experience.
Locate, retrieve, and critically evaluate information and information sources
