As a wind turbine technician, you can work on maintaining offshore wind turbines, onshore and offshore substations, and provide O&M facility support. You will access offshore assets by boat or sometimes helicopter to ensure the smooth operation of an offshore wind farm.

Wind turbine technician is ranked #1 on U.S. News & World Report's list of “Best Maintenance and Repair Jobs for 2022," and the Bureau of Labor Statistics has proclaimed it the second-fastest growing occupation in the country, with a projected 68% increase in job growth by 2030 and a median annual salary of $56,230.

The Wind Power Ready program was developed in partnership with Ørsted, the global clean energy leader and U.S. leader in offshore wind. This full-time paid training program ($15 per hour) lasts 22 weeks and will support you in getting ready to join the industry by gaining practical skills and developing the capabilities needed to become an offshore wind technician.

Ørsted has the goal of hiring 40% of their incoming turbine technicians from the Wind Power Ready Program. Ørsted technicians are paid $65,000 per year plus benefits, well above the industry average.

With this certificate on your CV, you will have all the backing needed to be recruited to work on the operations & maintenance of New Jersey's first offshore wind farm or the many others under construction up and down the East Coast.
