The Pathway to Education at RCSJ
The Pathway to Education, offered in partnership with Rowan University, provides a guided path to a teaching degree with options to specialize based on career goals – including early childhood or preschool education, K-6 or high school teacher, educational sign language interpreter, or inclusive educator.
Students are eligible to apply for instructional aide and school district paraprofessional positions or a substitute teacher certification after earning 30 credits. Upon completion of the full, four-year program, graduates earn their B.A. in Inclusive Education from Rowan University and are eligible to apply for Elementary (K-6) and Special Education (P-12) teaching certificates. Eligibility to apply for a Middle School subject matter certification can also be earned by taking 15 additional credits in Math, Science, Social Studies, or Language Arts.
To find out more about how the pathway offers money-saving opportunities through RCSJ's 3+1 program and early-start options for high school students with additional time and money-saving benefits contact Assistant Dean of Education & Humanities, Kevin Kitchenman, at
