Summative Assessment​

​​​​Summative assessments, which are high stakes assessments, provide information regarding student progress toward completion of student learning outcomes and objectives for any course, either for a long or short period of instructional time during the semester. ​



Queensland University of Technology established a list of summative assessments to be used in the classroom.​

​​The Yale Center for Teaching and Learning​ has designed a list that differentiates between formative and summative assessments.
