Library at Gloucester

The Collection

The Library's holdings consist of an extensive physical and online collection of books, ebooks, periodicals, and audio/video materials. The Library provides 24/7 remote access to all of its subscription online databases and to its online catalog. Library staff is available to help our patrons find what they need in our collection.

In addition to serving the information and research needs of students, faculty researchers, online learners, and the public, the Library has been established to serve as the College's Archives and Document Center providing for the centralization of important institutional documents.

Archives and Document Center

The Rowan College-Gloucester Archives and Document Center was established within the library to provide for the centralization, cataloging, and maintenance of important and historical college documents. Library staff are available to assist researchers and interested users in finding and copying required documents.

Some documents available in the Archives and Document Center are: Board of Trustee meeting minutes, Board Policy Manual, College Administrative Procedure Manual, union contracts, college catalogs, Middle States Commission on Higher Ed reports, accreditation self-studies, Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) reports, Annual Reports, Faculty Senate meeting & committee minutes, College Assembly meeting & committee minutes, strategic plans, historical ephemera.

Books & Media

The College's physical collection of print books and media (including DVDs and CDs) is searchable via the online catalog at www.login-libraries.org. This catalog also contains the holdings of other member libraries in the LOGIN consortium. Your valid, barcoded college library/ID card may be used to check out books and other materials from LOGIN member libraries. As an academic library, RowanSJ uses the Library of Congress Classification system with call numbers serving as the book's address on the shelf.

Children's Lit

This section of children's books is for education students and visiting children alike.

Databases

Find full-text, published sources on any subject in our subscription databases, available 24/7 on campus or by logging in to the Portal. Databases help students with their research by providing popular and scholarly articles, ebooks, encylopedias, and other reliable full-text sources to read and to incorporate into research projects. Many, but not all, of our databases are from the companies EBSCO and ProQuest.

Periodicals

These popular magazines are for in-library enjoyment.

Popular eBooks & Audiobooks

Students may download popular eBooks and audiobooks to their computers and many compatible tablets and smartphones at no charge. Visit the South Jersey Audiobook and eBook Download Center to borrow these titles. You will need your college library/ID card barcode numbers (on the back of the library card).
