​​2008 Higher Education Opportunity Act

In 2008, the Higher Education Opportunity Act became law, reauthorizing the Higher Education Act for the first time since 1998. This law is intended to help students and parents become more informed when making decisions about higher education. With this goal in mind, Rowan College South Jersey has developed this website to better educate students, parents, and the College community. For more information about the Higher Education Opportunity Act, refer to the U.S. Department of Education.

Privacy Rights of Students and Parents – FERPA Regulations

Gainful Employment

In October 2010, the U.S. Department of Education published final regulations in the Federal Register requiring institutions to report certain information about students enrolled in Title IV eligible educational programs that lead to gainful employment in a recognized occupation (GE programs). Those regulations also provide that institutions must disclose to a prospective student certain information about the institutional GE Programs. All Undergraduate Credit Certificate Programs offered at Rowan College South Jersey are considered GE programs.

Student External Complaint Process

A student may file directly with relevant Accreditation, State, and Federal agencies that investigate discrimination/harassment charges in addition to utilizing internal procedures.

An external complaint must be filed directly with the appropriate agency.
