Program Learning
The Advanced Wastewater Collections program is an NJDEP-approved course that reviews the core competencies required for wastewater collection system operations in accordance with state and federal regulations. The course examines the sources and general characteristics of wastewater and provides in-depth instruction on collection system design, materials of construction, lift stations, and force main operation and maintenance. Additional topics include an overview of industrial wastewater monitoring and control, operator hazards, safety practices, and effective collection system management. Applied mathematics is integrated throughout the course, with formulas used to solve practical problems related to collection system hydraulics and pumping.

- Interpret and apply state and federal regulations
- Operate, inspect and maintain system performance
- Identify and address common operational issues
- Perform calculations related to system operations
Enrollment Instructions
1. Visit our enrollment website and select your course with the appropriate start date.
2. Click “Add to Cart.” You will be prompted to create a new student profile.
3. Complete your enrollment by submitting payment for the course.
4. Download and complete the enrollment packet, if applicable, and send to [email protected] or drop off at the Cumberland or Gloucester CTE Office.
