Rowan Choice
The Rowan Choice Program offers RCSJ students of all majors the opportunity to live on Rowan University’s campus for one year while earning up to 30 credits. Courses are taught by RCSJ professors at both institutions, providing a supportive, affordable transition to university life.

The Rowan Choice program is open to all first-time, full-time Gloucester-based RCSJ freshman applicants; however, seats are limited. This program is ideal for students who need assistance transitioning into Rowan University
- Offered as a one-year program
- Students enrolled in the Rowan Choice program pursue 24–30 college credits
- Classes fulfill general education requirements mandated by Rowan University
- Instruction is provided by RCSJ faculty and therefore students pay the RCSJ tuition rate
- Classes are held in Rowan University's Enterprise Center on the Glassboro campus and RCSJ's Gloucester campus (transportation provided)
- All coursework has been carefully selected, reviewed, and approved by both institutions
- Students enrolled in the Rowan Choice program must maintain the GPA required by their selected major
- Upon successful completion of the program, students enter Rowan University as fully matriculated students after one year
- Rowan Choice students are assigned an academic advisor who will chart their progress and assist in course selection
- Transportation is provided for students via shuttle service on a daily basis between the Rowan University and RCSJ-Gloucester
- Financial aid counseling, academic advising, course registration, and tutoring assistance are provided by RCSJ staff and residents services
- Housing, resident life, and student affairs assistance are provided on the Rowan University campus
- Students must indicate RCSJ-Gloucester on their FAFSA form (Federal School Code: 006901)
- More than 67% of students who enrolled at RCSJ—Gloucester last year received some form of financial aid
- Students may apply for scholarships; the Rowan College of South Jersey Foundation awards $500,000 annually
- Scholarships are available to all students. Visit RCSJ Scholarships for deadlines and additional information
- Freshmen applicants must apply to Rowan University using the Common Application
- Upon receipt of a completed application, the university will send a Rowan Choice confirmation letter via email
- Once accepted into Rowan Choice, students must confirm their attendance in the program with a $400 non-refundable deposit
- Students enrolled in the Rowan Choice program live on the Rowan University campus in freshmen housing and will receive “the four-year college experience"
- A meal plan is required; Rowan University room and board rates apply
- Students have access to university amenities including the recreation center, gym, Westby Art Gallery, library, and more
Rowan Choice students can participate in university student life events, clubs, organizations and intramural sports; exceptions include NCAA Division III athletics, traveling club sports, and Greek life

First Time Students
Follow these steps to ensure you're ready to schedule your advisement appointment:

Step 2: Wait for Confirmation
Once your documentation is complete, Ms. Miller will email your next steps, including instructions to schedule your advisement appointment.

Meet with the Rowan Choice Advisor by emailing [email protected] or calling 856-464-5237. Please note that the Rowan Choice Advisor cannot meet with students until all admissions requirements are met and confirmed by Ms. Miller.

Rowan Choice - Frequently Asked Questions
Rowan Choice is a hybrid program offered between Rowan University and Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ). Students live on Rowan University’s campus and can participate in its student life activities, while taking classes offered through RCSJ and taught by its faculty.
Students interested in this program must have between zero (0) to no more than fifteen (15) college credits when enrolling into Rowan Choice. If a student has more than twenty-four (24) college credits, that student will have to apply to Rowan University via their transfer application.
Rowan Choice is a one-year program designed for incoming freshmen students. Students must complete 24-30 college credits and maintain a 2.0 GPA or above to fulfill the program’s requirements. After one year, depending on your major, students can transition seamlessly into Rowan University with the help of the Rowan Choice team to register for classes as a rising sophomore.
Students will complete between 24 to 30 credits (depending on the major) when enrolled in the Rowan Choice program. The curriculum has been selected and approved by both institutions. (This margin provides for any developmental coursework requirements, if necessary.)
After applying to Rowan University and completing all application requirements, prospective students receive a decision from Rowan University with further instructions. This process entails completing and sending back the Rowan Choice Enrollment Confirmation Letter.
Yes. Students are considered for both Rowan University and Rowan Choice. Students who are accepted into Rowan University have the option of selecting Rowan Choice if they would like, however, students who are referred to Rowan Choice in their beginning stages, do not have the option of selecting Rowan University.
Yes. Students are encouraged to file FAFSA and HESAA forms beginning in early October and November. All students must list RCSJ on their FAFSA if they wish to receive aid for Rowan Choice. (RCSJ Federal School Code: 006901).

Yes. Rowan Choice students may apply for scholarships through RCSJ. Since the students are considered enrolled RCSJ students, students are ineligible for Rowan University scholarships. RCSJ scholarship deadlines apply.
Yes. If the students meet all requirements, NJ STARS can be applied to Rowan Choice. If you would like more information on NJ STARS, please visit our Office of Financial Aid.
Yes. Qualified applicants will be eligible for the EOF program offered through RCSJ. You can visit their web page if you would like more information on the EOF program.
Yes. RCSJ will process any private scholarships or alternative loans for which students apply.
Yes. Students may participate in the RCSJ Federal Work Study program. They must apply in person at the RCSJ Office of Financial Aid.
Yes. Students can set up a payment plan through their portal electronically or through the RCSJ Business Office. Payment plans start at the end of July, before the fall semester payment due date.
Students will pay one invoice to RCSJ. This covers the entire cost of the fall semester (RCSJ tuition, Rowan University room and board, and both institution fees) and is due the first full week of August.
