Volunteer Centers of South Jersey
Connecting volunteers. Empowering Nonprofits. Building community.
Who We Are
We work to change lives, empower families and improve our community through volunteerism and supporting local nonprofit organizations. We also promote volunteerism in the region and connect individuals and businesses with opportunities to serve.
We believe in growing our community by providing best-practice tools and offering educational and consulting support services to our nonprofit partners. We want to see all individuals and families in New Jersey engaged in volunteer service. We also want every local nonprofit to have the resources they need to accomplish their mission.
RCSJ Serves
Rowan College of South Jersey Hosts RCSJ Serves: A College-Wide Week of Service, Sept. 8–11
In recognition of the 25th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) will host RCSJ Serves, bringing together students, staff, faculty, and nonprofit partners for a unified Week of Service across the RCSJ Gloucester and Cumberland campuses. Every act of service—big or small—helps strengthen our communities while honoring a legacy that continues to inspire us.
Throughout RCSJ Serves, participants will engage in hands-on volunteer opportunities, community engagement activities, reflection experiences, collection drives, and large-scale service initiatives to support both campus and surrounding South Jersey communities. Week of Service projects in collaboration with nonprofit partners include:
- Food Drive Collection – Campus Care (VCSJ)
- Hygiene Project Kit Packing – Hygiene Project
- Flower Power Rock Painting – Flower Power, Inc.
- Wellness Wall & Pantry Project – The Pantry at CWS
- Community Hero Cards – Project Appreciation (VCSJ)
- Veterans Freedom Blankets – Save NJ Vets
- Crochet a Scarf for those in Need – Crocheting for a Cause
- Book Bin Painting – Booksmiles.org
RCSJ Serves is a collaboration between RCSJ, RCSJ Foundation, Volunteer Centers of South Jersey, Jersey Cares, AmeriCorps, and supported by a grant from 9/11 Day.
