Program Learning Outcomes

This biology program option provides students with the basic course requirements to satisfy the first two years of a baccalaureate degree in pre-veterinary medicine or to apply to a veterinary medicine doctoral program that accepts associate degree candidates. Veterinary medicine doctoral programs will require students to complete the GRE, Biochemistry at a different institution and work or volunteer hours in the field.

Students who have completed the program should be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of theory and practical experience and handling in anatomy, physiology, nutrition, behavior, health, and reproduction of the horse and other animal species
  • Demonstrate knowledge of major concepts in animal and equine science, biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics essential for further study in veterinary medicine
