Center for Displaced Homemakers
The Center for Displaced Homemakers is dedicated to helping individuals whose lives are in transition gain the skills, confidence, and resources they need to achieve financial and emotional self-sufficiency.
Displaced homemakers are individuals who have spent years working in the home and suddenly find themselves needing to become the primary source of household income. This may happen because of divorce, separation, widowhood, domestic violence, military deployment, or the disability of a spouse or partner.
In many cases, displaced homemakers are underemployed and face challenges supporting themselves and their children. After losing a primary source of income, returning to the workforce can feel overwhelming – but you are not alone.
The Center for Displaced Homemakers provides no-cost, confidential, personalized support to help individuals transition into financial and emotional self-sufficiency. Our mission is to empower participants to make their own decisions, build confidence, and gain the skills needed to succeed in today’s job market.
