Lita Marcelo Abele Business Institute
Founded by Lita Marcelo Abele, an author, CEO, and visionary RCSJ Board Member and community leader, the Institute is dedicated to breaking down barriers and supporting the growth of future business leaders.
Vision Statement
The Lita Marcelo Abele Institute for Business at Rowan College of South Jersey aims to develop leadership skills, foster empowerment, and provide professional growth for students through mentorship, speaker series, networking opportunities, skill development, and career pathways.
Membership
Membership in the Lita Marcelo Abele Institute for Business is open to RCSJ full-time and part-time students who have completed at least one semester at RCSJ and are enrolled in programs within the Division of Business Studies at Gloucester and Cumberland Campuses. The Institute's reach extends to COA, AAS, AS, and 3+1 program students.
Active participation in the Institute is integral to the mission of the organization.
Scholarships
Scholarships, with criteria to be determined, are made available to Institute members. These scholarships aim to provide financial support and encourage academic excellence among members. (Specific criteria for the scholarships will be determined by the Advisory Committee.)
Mentorships
Mentorship opportunities are a cornerstone of the Institute. Members have access to experienced mentors who guide them through their academic and professional journeys, offering valuable insights and advice.
Networking Opportunities
The Institute provides a platform for members to network with peers, faculty, and industry professionals. Networking is essential for building relationships, exploring career opportunities, and gaining exposure to various facets of the business world.
Professional Development Events
Members can participate in a series of professional development events organized by the Institute. These events are designed to enhance skills, knowledge, and confidence, preparing members for success in the business world.

Lita Marcelo Abele established an endowment of $10,000, demonstrating her commitment to the Institute's mission and sustainability. The RCSJ Foundation provided a matching scholarship of $10,000, further growing the financial support available to Institute members.
