Program Learning
This program provides comprehensive training in CNC milling operations, preparing students for entry-level employment in advanced manufacturing. Students gain hands-on experience with precision measurement and gauging, tool identification, setup, use, and maintenance, as well as CNC mill setup, operation, and control. The curriculum emphasizes blueprint reading, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), inspection and preparation of raw materials, and CNC program operation, including an introduction to G- and M-codes.
Through a combination of classroom instruction and practical lab work, students develop the technical skills and industry knowledge required for safe, efficient, and accurate machining. Successful completion of the program prepares students to sit for the NIMS CNC Mill Operations certification.
