Mechanical Engineering Technology

This program prepares students for entry-level employment in the field of mechanical engineering technology as well as transfer into baccalaureate programs leading to careers manufacturing, product development, robotics, automotive, and various other industrial fields. The flexibility offered by this program allows for entrance directly into the workforce or transfer into a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering Technology program.

Students who have completed the program should be able to:

• Apply knowledge, techniques, skills, and modern tools of the discipline to narrowly defined engineering technology activities
• Apply knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering, and technology to engineering technology problems that require limited application of principles but extensive practical knowledge
• Conduct standard tests and measurements, and conduct, analyze, and interpret experiments
• Identify, analyze, and solve narrowly defined engineering technology problems
• Apply written, oral, and graphical communication in both technical and non-technical environments with use of appropriate technical literature
