Program Learning Outcomes
The Surgical Technology Program prepares students to work safely and confidently in the operating room as part of the surgical team. Students learn sterile technique, instrumentation and step-by-step process of surgical procedures through classroom teaching, hands-on lab practice, and clinical experiences with our partnering facilities. The program is designed to build strong technical skills, good judgement, and professionalism so graduates can support surgeons and nurses during surgical procedures. Graduates will be ready for entry-level employment and eligible for the national certification exam in surgical technology. Students must earn a C+ or better in all SURG courses to remain in the program.
Students who have completed the program will be able to:

Education Unique to Each Student
The support I received at RCSJ means a lot, especially being first-generation. It meant a lot having those people there to guide me, have 100% trust in me to do what I said I was going to do, . . . and believe in me even more than I believed in myself.
