Program Learning Outcomes
The Welding and Fabrication certificate will equip students with the essential skills and knowledge to succeed in the welding and metalworking industries. This hands-on program covers a wide range of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and stick welding, as well as metal fabrication, blueprint reading, and the use of welding equipment and tools. Students will gain practical experience in joining, cutting, and shaping metals for a variety of applications, from structural steel and pipe welding to custom fabrication. The certificate also includes training in welding safety, industry standards, and quality control, ensuring students understand proper procedures for creating strong, durable, and precise welds.
Students who have completed the program will be able to:
- Understand safety, quality control, and industry standards for proper welding and fabrication practices
- Apply welding techniques and welding equipment to specific applications and welding needs in fabrication
- Identify the correct types of welds to use in specific industrial applications in fabrication.

This program provides a great foundation for a career in the automotive trades – in dealership sales or service positions or different trades like electrical or HVAC. It’s a great stepping stone as a young adult and the possibilities are vast.
