The recognizes the important role that education and experience play in ensuring well-qualified full-time and adjunct faculty. Accordingly, qualifications for full-time and adjunct faculty members are the same. In all cases, a graduate degree, including substantial course work in the discipline to be taught, is preferred.

Generally, faculty will have at least a master’s degree with a concentration in the discipline. In Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) and Associate in Fine Arts (A.F.A.) programs, a master’s degree is preferred. However, a bachelor’s degree, appropriate work experience, and/or occupationally specific licenses or certifications may stand in place of the master’s degree.

Waivers from the preferred educational and experience levels will be made by the President for full-time faculty and by the Chief Academic Officer for adjunct faculty.
