Policy: 8201
Any student who previously attended county colleges at the Gloucester or Cumberland campuses is qualified for academic amnesty if that student meets the following criteria:
- Student had a cumulative GPA below 2.000 or was otherwise on probation or academic leave when last attended the College;
- Five (5) years have elapsed since the last term of attendance;
- Student desires to return to the College and complete a degree or certificate; and
- Has not previously been granted academic amnesty.
Academic amnesty is an option a returning student must request prior to or during the first year of readmission after the five year absence.
Under academic amnesty, courses taken five years or more prior to readmission will appear on the transcript, but only those grades of “C-“ or better will be counted for purposes of determining the cumulative GPA and credit toward graduation.
The President will have administrative procedures developed for this policy.
