Admission to the RCSJ Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program is selective, meaning it is not guaranteed and requires additional steps towards admission.

This program requires a portfolio with a checklist of duties, which must be completed by the deadline for admission consideration.

The Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) program provides the requisite training for entry-level postsecondary medical assistants through classroom, laboratory, and supervised clinical instruction and practice. CCMA program graduates receive a Certificate of Achievement upon completion of all program components.
2026 CCMA Information Sessions
- All applicants must attend ONE information session from the dates below prior to submission of a portfolio.
- All information sessions will start promptly at the posted time and last about 1.5 – 2 hours.
- Late entries (10 minutes past start time) will be prohibited. Plan accordingly!

CCMA is a Gloucester program.
Certificate of Achievement, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant
Students in good academic standing are eligible to take the national credentialing exam at the completion of all program requirements. Graduates of the program can earn four, nationally recognized certifications through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) and one through the American Heart Association:
- Phlebotomy
- EKG
- Medical Assistant
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for the Healthcare Provider
2 semesters, which is 1 academic year
It is dependent on clinical site availability and faculty availability
It is a daytime, weekday program with a full-time (40-hours per week) clinical rotation in the second semester.
All 29 credits will go towards a Health Science, A.A.S. degree at RCSJ.
