The future trend indicates increase in this field of counseling. This program is designed for students who have an interest in becoming compassionate counselors specializing in the field of alcohol and drugs.
- Students who have completed the program should be able to:
- Demonstrate an understanding of alcohol and drug abuse
- Identify and analyze the chronic effects of abuses and addictions associated with alcohol and drugs
- Identify prevention methods and interventions for alcohol and drug addictions
- Conduct a mock interview with a person associated with alcohol or drug abuse
- Demonstrate professional/ethical responsibility in legal and cultural issues
- Locate, retrieve & critically evaluate information and information sources
