Program Learning Outcomes
This program prepares students for entry-level employment in the field of social work as well as transfer into baccalaureate social work with an emphasis on healthcare, leading to mid-level social work positions, leading to case management and intake, community organization, program management, and child and family social work. Transferring to a master's in healthcare social work would be the primary goal. The flexibility offered by this program allows for entrance directly into the workforce or transfer to a B.S. in Social Work.
- Upon completion of this program:
- Students will demonstrate an understanding of healthcare social work (case management)
- Students will identify & assess the needs of an individual or group, helping people obtain resources
- Students will identify prevention methods & interventions through problem-solving and coping strategies
- Students will demonstrate professional/ethical responsibility in legal and cultural issues (professional responsibility)
- Students will locate, retrieve, and critically evaluate information and information sources
