EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

College faculty, through the Faculty Senate Curriculum Council, serve as a review, advisory, and recommending body to the appropriate vice president in matters dealing with additions, modification, or deletions of credit courses and programs of study.

The College curriculum process reflects and maintains consistency with the current General Education Foundation for Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Associate in Applied Science, Associate in Fine Arts, Specialized Associates, and Certificate programs in New Jersey community colleges. Additionally, the College validates the general education courses in all degree and certificate programs are consistent with the NJCC General Education Foundation so all courses officially transfer to New Jersey state college and universities.

Annually, the College will implement a systematic auditing process that identifies courses that have not been offered or run successfully. This history will be used by academic deans and faculty to revise course offerings and ensure that all course offerings and the College catalog are accurate.

The NJCC General Education Foundation description, course criteria, and learning objectives provide guidelines for this process. The academic deans will request faculty participation in the AAAG General Education Coordinating Committee (GECC) for review and appeal of general education course designation.
